Our four day complete virtual homeschooler program is for children 7-15 and their siblings who thrive in a learner centered experiential environment. They learn best with an inquiry based or self directed learning environment and have interests and passions they want to pursue while wanting to collaborate, brainstorm and take their ideas and projects to the next level. The learners follow their passion projects while learning and using collaboration skills, project management skills, scientific investigation skills using goal setting and self assessment in a virtual class environment.
This micro school started with the innovation of Claire Helen Warden from Mindstretchers as virtual nature school to keep families connect with nature while homeschooling with their children using an inquiry and unschooled approach to learning. The students got deeper and deeper with their inquiries and their learning and started wanting to use their skills to pursue inquiries and projects both in nature and out. This program was born out of this and now ideas take them wherever their passion leads them.
We believe that children learn best when able to follow their ideas and passions in a group environment where they benefit from being able to create and build projects working with others to stimulate ideas, understandings and perspectives that push their ideas to the next level. We will take learners outside the age range, just message.
Inquiry and Project Based Learning Micro-School – This program is a 4 day a week program for homeschoolers. Family is seen as integral to the learning process so families partner with the school for integrated learning. It combines two meetings daily with the class and a time to pursue their goals and ideas that are developed in class. The first meet of the day they learn about something new, review others ideas or perspectives or refine their project idea to set a goal. The second meeting of the day they come to class and show what they have accomplished and listen to feedback from the class.
